Forgetful

And lazy! That's how I roll these days. Although I'm actually too busy to do much about my lazy tendencies.

Bas doesn't show much interest in stuff like swimming, which breaks my heart a little bit, as I have visions of him doing some kind of 'sun-bronzed Aussie' thing all over the local kids here at the swimming pool or the lake. Truth is, he's white as a sheet and hates cold water, just like his Mum.

He's also not really interested in kicking a football or any ball-related sports.

What he does love though is running, and he is out my clutches like a lead shot any chance he gets.

We went down to Lutry on the weekend for some sunshine and Bas discovered this little athletics track. It's kid-sized, but when we calculated how much he'd run around it in one go (full tilt, over 500m) we were gob-smacked. We started calling him Basile Bolt. Make that Barefoot Basile Bolt.

And speaking of running, I've started up again. Running four times a week, late at night, all because I'm hoping to run a half-marathon here in October.

  1. I started running again this week, first time after nearly three years! But no marathons in sight for me. Gosh!

Also, in case you didn't see the response on my blog about juicers...

My juicer is a Samson. There are several brands which seem quite similar. I am happy with this one though, it wasn't too expensive, it gets most of the juice out and the leftover pulp is quite dry. Plus it's relatively easy to clean. It works well for vegetables and for leaves although soft fruit is not ideal, but the only fruit I use for juicing is apple anyway. I have also been using my Vitamix blender for juicing recently, then straining the mix through a nut milk bag. This is very effective. But a Vitamix is a bigger investment. Hope this info helps.
    Happy Juicing!
